In 1960, Victor Faber founded the World Twirling Association. He left his mark on the sport of baton twirling by founding TWO twirling organizations and for being the only person in his field to lead a twirling organization who had been a championship baton twirler. Mr. Faber retired in 1980 and since then, Nancy Hespe has been the director of the organization. Prior to that time, she had twirled, taught, and judged for Victor. So she had the perfect background to head up the World Twirling Association for the next twenty years . . . and still counting! Headquartered in Northwest Ohio, Nancy has expanded the organization by traveling to many areas to offer clinics and contests, some as far away as Iowa and Belgium. She encourages and welcomes suggestions. As stated in the W.T.A. philosophy, “Together, we can continue to promote and develop the sport of baton twirling.”
